Principal's Message

Dear Families,
On behalf of our school community, I would like to extend a warm welcome to The Grove Education Centre.

About Us The Grove is a Reception to Year 12 school located in Woodville, South Australia. We specialise in providing personalised and inclusive learning programs for children and young people with intellectual disabilities. Each child has a One Plan with clear learning goals tailored to their needs, aligning with the South Australia Public Education Strategy's focus on individualised learning.

Our Values Our dedicated staff embody our school values: Professional Integrity, Evidence-Based Practice, Collaboration, and Respect. We are committed to delivering consistent, high-quality classroom experiences, supported by ongoing professional development and guidance from our Communication and Literacy Coach. This dedication reflects the strategy's emphasis on building a world-class education system through continuous improvement and professional excellence.

Our Mission Our mission is to work closely with students, families, and the community to prepare every student for the best possible post-school pathways. This mission is reflected in our motto, ‘Partners in Learning’. We encourage families and carers to be actively involved in their child’s education, supporting the strategy's goal of fostering strong partnerships between schools and communities.

Our Vision We aim to be leaders in inclusive education, ensuring our students are fully engaged in their learning and focused on a future filled with unlimited possibilities. Our positive behaviour code, known as 'The Grove Five', supports students in self-regulation and includes: I am respectful, I am responsible, I am safe, I am friendly, and I have feelings. This aligns with the strategy's commitment to creating safe and inclusive learning environments.

Communication We believe that every individual with complex communication needs deserves access to both electronic and non-electronic augmentative and alternative communication (AAC) tools. Our staff are skilled communication partners, ensuring every student has a voice in all environments. This supports the strategy's focus on equity and ensuring all students have the tools they need to succeed.

Leadership I am honoured to lead such an inspiring school community and am dedicated to improving access, inclusion, and equity for neurodiverse children and young people. This commitment aligns with the South Australia Public Education Strategy's vision of providing high-quality education for all students.

We would love to show you around our wonderful school. Please contact us if you would like to arrange a tour.

Warm regards,

Nikola Haskell
